Having worked with this large insurance company based in the south Midlands since 1998, we were well placed to help them grow their IT department. Between 2000 and 2008 over 200 IT staff were recruited to work in development, security, management, IT purchasing, technical support and customer support.
Frequent use was made of ability tests (e.g. VB6) and more generic forms of evaluation, together with psychometric analysis where appropriate.
A review in 2007 with the Head of IT identified that on average, individual line managers only needed to interview 2 candidates to fill a job, such was the relevancy of candidates submitted.
